A bitter sweet silver medal for Mikey Day tonight after winning time trials, all 3 quarters, and 2 of the 3 semi finals putting him outside for the final. Maris Strombergs comes through with the win which gives him the most impressive season of any one in BMX history winning the Gold Medal at both the Olympic Games and the UCI World Championships. ... Two awesome accomplishments and congrats to him on that......
I'm so stoked for Mikey because even though he was in form for a gold medal, his silver medal is nearly as good. He's had a tough couple seasons and has been right on the brink of success at every supercross race and people had started to doubt him and think he was only good for a time trial. I think this was a second co-sign after Olympic Trials that Mikey is the man on the Supercross track. dR Donald, awesome job although I haven't seen the main from the 3rd moto time I'm guessing he started from box 8 so a podium finish is very respectable. You guys all killed it and I'm proud of you guys as well as Jill with a rad Bronze medal.
I was just watching the Olympic re-runs and I quoted a Volleyball player saying, "We're going for the gold, what is the point of coming to the Olympics unless you have a chance to win the gold." With that said, I was very surprised that Erwood, Sakamoto, and Phillips, didn't make it out of the motos. I figured if Liam was going to take the spot that Kelvin earned for Great Britain, that he would give a little better effort than travel all the way to China for 3 motos.
Khalen says good job to Kama for making it out of motos. Nice. Good job Kama.
