Today I decided that I'm finally going to hit the trails. It's been a while. My boy G-bum rode his bike from Long Beach this morning and we headed over to Sheep Hills.....
I hadn't ridden trails in a while other than one time with Weatherford and I was pretty loose. A few months back I wanted a new jump bike so I got a raw frame from my TM and thought it would be funny to let it rust and be super ugly. I left it in Hermosa Beach for a few months and it was Orange and discusting. The back hub was blown out and making so much noise from being dryed out and rusty too. As I rode to the trails today I felt like I was a kid again, when I was young growing up I would ride my bike millleeessss and spend all day at the trails with out a care in the world. Ride the bus, ride as far as I needed to as long as I got to spend the day at the trails and had enough money to buy two bean burritos from Taco Bell and a Super Big Gulp from 7-11. So, on the way to the trails I thought my pile of crap bike was funny and all but by the end of the session I was over it. I had a fun time at the trails and Sheep is in really good shape right now, I rode pretty good and hit everything and will start riding there until it's too dry again, but then summer is here and it's time for the beach anyway :P
So after the session I got some rust remover and some satin pink paint. I cleaned all the rust
off and my hands were orange. I hung the frame from a tree by a brake cable and G-bum spray painted it. We re-built the back wheel and now my bike is Gucci. I got the new S&M T4 bar, so the bike is nearly as light as my race bike and solid for the trails. Rad. That's pretty much all for today. Tired and off to bed. Oh ya I forgot to tell you K.Y got 20 hours of tattoo work over the last 2 days which is pretty gnarly. He did get another Derek Betcher's crew tattoo on his arm. Down for life. Thanks KY.
