Tonight I went with Rob and Meesh to Anahiem Supercross Round 2. Bubba Stewart has a bummed knee and wasn't racing after his win last weekend in Phoenix. The 125 main was pretty good....
We saw Jason Lawrence making his way through the pack up to 3rd and his bike stalled. It was "throwback" night and the track was modeled after Anahiem in 1986, which meant the track was a bit old school and there was this one big roller that made the riders come nearly to a dead stop and that's where his bike stalled. Sucked. The parade lap was the coolest thing, Carmichael, Chad Reed and Mcgrath all went out and did 2 laps around the track and Carmichaels whips are off the chain. I'm sure he still rides a lot. Such a sick rider to watch he is. Anyway. I took this photo from behind the starting line for the 250 main event. In the center is Mike Alessi #800 and Chad Reed #22. Chad ended up winning the race after Alessi holeshotted. This is a Supercross first straight away. Notice 40 yards to a roller, another 40 yards to a turn. The only difference to from 1986 Supercross was there used to be a roller or something like there was tonight, but now there is just 80-100 yards of flat pin it, to a turn... No 4 story ramp. Just drag race. Weird huh?
